paris jackson ANNOUNCES SOPHOMORE ALBUM ‘HAPPIEST DAY OF MY LIFE’ OUT AUGUST 21st

paris jackson has officially announced her highly anticipated sophomore album, HAPPIEST DAY OF MY LIFE, arriving August 21st via Republic Records. Alongside the announcement, she shares the album’s newest single, “stitched (on & on),” out now—listen HERE.

Following the release of her recent singles “zombies in love” and “teenage drama,” “stitched (on & on)” offers a further intimate glimpse into HAPPIEST DAY OF MY LIFE—an 11-track body of work that captures jackson at her most vulnerable, confident, and creatively expansive. Anchored by haunting melodies, unfiltered lyricism, and cathartic alternative and rock sounds, “stitched (on & on)” was initially debuted earlier this summer during paris’ set at BottleRock Napa Valley. It reflects on a love that continues to leave its mark long after it’s gone, balancing heartbreak with acceptance as memories linger “on and on.” The song continues the album’s emotional throughline, which is rooted in healing, self-discovery, and finding light after darkness.

Born from what jackson describes as “a collision of sound, experience, and emotion,” HAPPIEST DAY OF MY LIFEmarks a bold evolution from her acclaimed 2020 debut, wilted. Drawing inspiration from formative influences including The Smashing Pumpkins, Pixies, Marcy Playground, and Bright Eyes, the album was brought to life alongside legendary songwriters and producers Linda Perry, Butch Walker, and Jason Lader, whose collaboration helped push jackson further than ever before as a vocalist and songwriter. The record embraces a heavier, more dynamic sonic landscape while remaining grounded in the deeply personal songwriting that has become her signature.

paris first introduced audiences to her celestial yet edgy sound with her 2020 debut album, wilted, the critically acclaimed project was instantly praised for its amplified alternative-folk textures and melancholic-fused confessional songwriting. Created in collaboration with Andy Hull and Robert McDowell of Manchester Orchestra, the record captured #1 on the iTunes US Alternative Albums Chart upon release and incited the applause of NPR, Associated Press, Rolling Stone, Entertainment Weekly, NME, NYLON, Refinery29, and more. Following the release of wilted, she dropped the lost EPalongside a string of singles including “lighthouse” and “bandaid,” performed headline shows across North America, and toured with the likes of Queens of the Stone Age, Incubus, Manchester Orchestra, Silversun Pickups, The Revivalists, and more. Since then, she has been working on her forthcoming project, expanding her creative palette while still staying rooted in the authenticity that has become her hallmark.
