Following widespread acclaim from tastemakers and fans alike, buzzing alternative pop disruptor Amelia Moore uncovers her anxiously awaited new EP, he’s still just not that into you!, out now. Listen HERE.
The project kicks into high gear with the single “spelling bee” featuring Teezo Touchdown. Beeping synth transmissions underline her lusty verses laced with double entendre as she breathlessly wonders, “How do I say what’s on my brain?” She cleverly spells out her intentions for “t-h-e b-e-d” during the chorus only for Teezo Touchdown to join in on the fun with his own flirty and “f-u-n” lyrical response.
About the song, Amelia says, “‘spelling bee’ is a cheeky way to tell someone you’re obsessed with what you want them do to you. I hope people dance to it as much as we did while we were making it!”
She preceded the EP with “fuck, marry, kill” in March, marking her first release with Republic Records. Elsewhere, she takes back the classic melody of Cyndi Lauper’s 1983 staple “Girls Just Want To Have Fun” and gives it a Gen Z makeover on “that’s all they really want.” Slowing the tempo, Amelia’s voice barely cracks a whisper, cutting through soft piano. She laments, “But don’t get your hopes up, ‘cause boys just wanna have fun.” Emotion overflows on the closer “emily.” A cassette tape flips and buckles, and glitchy guitar echoes above the feedback. In a moment of naked vulnerability, she exhales, “We really don’t call each other anymore, and it’s crazy ‘cause you used to call me yours.”

She adds, “I’ve experienced so much beauty and so much chaos while navigating my love life since I moved away from home. I was an innocent-sheltered-religious-homeschooled girl in Gwinnett County, Georgia who led worship for my student group…but deep down I secretly wished for the experiences that inspired these songs.”

She capped off a breakout 2024 with a high-powered all-female remix of her banger “see through” featuring Coco Jones, Absolutely, and Samara Cyn. Right out of the gate, ELLE named the track as one of the best they heard in December, going on to applaud how, “On this remix to the viral track, she enlists Coco Jones with her buttery alto, pop up-and-comer Absolutely, and Samara Cyn to top it off with laid-back rhymes.”
