Unapologetic rising artist CHINCHILLA has released explosive EP Flytrap – listen here. Complete with seven tracks, today’s release showcases CHINCHILLA’s distinctive sound as she weaves themes of power, independence, and growth. Flytrap also demonstrates CHINCHILLA’s versatility as an artist, as the EP sees her let loose on powerful tracks such as “Cut You Off”, “MF Diamond”, and new addition “Bounce Back”, while showing a more emotional side on songs like “1:5”. The new EP also includes 2023 breakout single “Little Girl Gone”, the fiercely unapologetic banger that unintentionally became an anthem for female empowerment among CHINCHILLA’s listeners. Last night at an exclusive show in London, CHINCHILLA celebrated the release of Flytrap, wowing the audience as she performed the EP live for the very first time.
Speaking about the new EP, CHINCHILLA says: “”When you hold something tightly, you kill it”. The concept of ‘Flytrap’ came from an analogy my mum speaks about. It’s about letting someone be free and not holding them too tightly, subsequently crushing the thing you loved about them in the first place. A lot of this EP is about the music industry and control. Flytrap is about possession. And growing your wings again after they’ve been clipped.”
