Blink-182 brought their “One More Time” tour to Little Caesars Arena on Monday August 12th, and it was electric. The crowd was in good spirits and excited to see the band one more time or is it. The stage setup was wicked good and different than past tours. Blink-182 stage had a 360-degree view giving fans the ultimate concert experience. Moving platforms rotated Tom DeLonge and Mark Hoppus around the perimeter while drummer Travis Barker drum kit also rotated and lifting Barker into the air for three songs midway through the set. That was badass to see in person.
The production was top notch offering plenty of special effects like pyros, fire, smoke, and a crazy laser show. Four large video screens showing some live footage like when the band first hit the stage to the Undertaker WWE theme also having its own array of effects and animations. The 95-minute set opened with “Feeling This” “The Rock Show” and “Man Overboard” The 25-song set was very well balanced delivering all the classic cuts and some new tracks. Some cool highlights from the night came during “Stay Together for the Kids” when the band asked the crowd for a show of hands. If you do some research, you will know that plenty of jokes are thrown around during the set which some may take the wrong way.
The best highlight of the night was the killer drum solo Travis Barker delivered showing some raw emotion, flare, and one angry beatdown on those skins. The band ended the set with my favorite song “All the Small Things” which got the sold out crowd dancing in their seats and isle ways. “Dammit” and “One More Time” closed out the set. The show also featured Pierce The Veil which was my first time seeing them and they brought some high energy along with a side of crazy jumpers off the drum kit making for some great photo snags. I will definitely check them out the next time they stop in Michigan. Some heavy hitters included in the set “King For A Day,” “Pass The Nirvana,” and “Emergency Contact.” That was a banging 8-song set. Opener Hotmilk also featured on the bill. Check them out in a city near you or in the comforts of your own home on all streaming platforms. Stay young America keep rocking!
