SAVING ABEL IS BACK, JOINED BY ORIGINAL FRONTMAN JARED WEEKS

Rock band Saving Abel is best known for their hit “Addicted” which was released in March 2008. It was followed by their major label debut, Saving Abel, on March 11, 2008. “Addicted” took over radio reaching the top positions on the active rock, rock, and modern rock charts while simultaneously rising to No. 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song rapidly reached gold and shortly after, platinum status.

After announcing that original lead singer Jared Weeks was welcomed back in July 2022, the band has since performed in Japan, crisscrossed the US last summer, played for troops overseas, and penned several new songs for their new album. The first single, “Baptize Me” was released today, Friday, April 14th, 2023. The full album will be released later this year.

The path back to the band has not been without major challenges for Weeks. A decade of substance abuse with drugs and alcohol, problematic health diagnoses, the loss of close friends and family and the pandemic hit Weeks hard. However, in the last several years, he has found sobriety and self-care, which is palpable in the band’s new music. He is a proud father of three and credits his wife Nikki for much of his recovery and redemption.

“Ever since I left the band it’s like I’ve been clawing and fighting to take my life back,” shared Weeks. “It was hard at first but with consistency and hard work, I’ve been able to look at the things in my life that I’m not proud of, and I’ve been able to face those things, figure out where they are coming from and I’ve been able to heal. That’s what the new single ‘Baptize Me’ is about — consistently fighting for yourself, your life, how you treat others, and what you stand for!! “We ain’t getting out alive” and “It’s time to live again” I’ve always wanted SA to sound this way! I love my life and I love this journey.”

April is Alcohol Awareness Month, and in addition to promoting the new single, Jared is keen to share about his past, his present, and his future. He is an open book and wants to use his platform to help others through his story.

“This new album that we are putting together isn’t about egos, drugs, and partying,” Weeks continued. “It’s about substance. It’s about inspiring others to know their value in life, their worth, and how they can be the hero in their own stories. We are powerful beings, and everything we need is as close as taking a look inside yourself and discovering the power that you have over your own life.”

SiriusXM’s OCTANE (Channel 37) exclusively premiered the single Thursday, April 13th. SiriusXM is available to subscribers nationwide on SiriusXM radios, the SXM App, and with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant or however they stream at home. Streaming access is included with all of SiriusXM’s trials and most popular plans.
