Port Huron get ready for a night with STYX

Lawrence Gowan (STYX)

Legendary Chicago rockers STYX will be making a stop in Port Huron, Michigan on November 4th at the McMoraan Place Sports & Entertainment Center – Theatre. Having photographed the band a few times the McMoraan Place will be in store for a night filled with some amazing guitar riffs from the one and only Tommy Shaw, along with Lawrence Gowan great stage presence, and not to forget all the classic STYX hits from past to present. Gowan, the Scottish-Canadian musician displays his true talents on the keyboards that in itself along with the occasional surprise appearance by original bassist Chuck Panozzo make for a must see event.

STYX highly anticipated 17th album, CRASH OF THE CROWN, was released June 18 on the band’s label, Alpha Dog 2T/UMe, which is available as clear vinyl, black vinyl, CD, and on digital platforms. Fans can order it here and at Styxworld.com. CRASH OF THE CROWN is the follow-up to STYX’s 16th studio album, THE MISSION (their first in 14 years at the time, which critics called “a masterpiece”) which was released June 16, 2017 on the band’s label, Alpha Dog 2T/UMe. The highly anticipated two-disc reissue of THE MISSION was released on July 27, 2018 via Alpha Dog 2T/UMe, which includes a CD of the original album, as well as a Blu-ray of the album mixed in 5.1 surround sound accompanied by stunning visualizations for each of the album’s 14 songs based on the album artwork.

Tommy Shaw

You can expect to be taken down memory lane for sure with the classic’s like Come Sail Away, Renegade, and the always fan favorite Blue Collar Man, along with my favorite and possible every other STYX faithful Mr. Roboto. Speaking of Mr. Roboto I did a review a few years back when STYX played here in Michigan and the reaction to the band playing Mr. Roboto was setting off goosebumps, along with smiles, and joy, on the faces of their fans. With past stops Mr.Roboto wasn’t on the setlist it is now and the reaction is priceless. You can purchase tickets for this show here, about 62 mile ride from Detroit up I-94. Our neighbors from Canada can take the Blue Water Bridge over and enjoy a night with STYX. The band will also be making a stop in New Buffalo, Michigan the next night on November 5th. Tickets for the November 5th show can be purchased here.
