Michigan– If you haven’t seen Styx over the summer now’s your chance to as the Legendary and multi-Platinum rockers will play two shows in December. On the 27th they will be in Mount Pleasant, Mi. at the Soaring Eagle Casino and then make their way to New Buffalo, Mi on Friday, December 28 at the Four Winds Casino Resort. Best part of the tour is both sides of the state can enjoy Tommy Shaw and the boy’s. As a matter of fact the New Buffalo show can draw folks from Chicago about 71 mile drive, plus surrounding Indiana as well. Styx will be wrapping up their 2018 tour later next month.
The summer concert was incredible in support of their 16th studio album The Mission. Front man Lawrence Gowan who replaced Dennis DeYoung is just full of high energy all show long with a incredible stage presence. Gowan works the keyboard like no one can. A song that comes to mind was Mr. Roboto which hasn’t been played in a very long time. Personally I would like to see the song added to all shows moving forward. I dig the bluesy sounds of Gone, Gone, Gone from The Mission album as will Styx fans from all around. Tommy Shaw is a guitar God to say the least shredding the guitar all night long to the delight of the sell-out crowd. The Detroit crowd was treated with the occasional surprise appearance by original bassist Chuck Panozzo.
The band plans to announce new dates for 2019 very soon so check their website for details. The Mission album is a must listen to for sure. Treat that special someone with tickets to these two Michigan shows and yourself, you will not be disappointed. I have provided links below for remaining tour dates and everything Styx.
