I’ve been thankful to cover Foreigner for the past couple of years with the exception of last year (no stop) at DTE Energy Music Theater and both show’s were amazing and if you missed them shame on you. This upcoming tour is definitely a must for your summer plans. Foreigner announced earlier in the week their 2020 “Juke Box Hereos” tour with special guests Kansas and Europe, will kickoff in Albuquerque, NM on July 9th with a stop Tuesday night at DTE on the 28th of July. This tour is a 80’s dream come true for all who rocked out it that era, and what a era it was. Concert goers of all ages will be heading back in time with famous hit songs such as Hot Blooded, Head games, “I wanna know what love is” to the Iconic hits from Kansas with Dust in the Wind, and Carry on Wayward Son, and the hit song’s from Europe “Carrie” and “It’s the final countdown”.
A highlight to note on this tour for Foreigner is a residency show at The Venetian, Las Vegas which kicks off on January 24, 2020. You can expect active participation from fans night in and night out and sellouts to be had across the board on this one.
The band is led by founder Mick Jones on lead guitar, singer Kelly Hansen, bassist Jeff Pilson, multi-instrumentalist Tom Gimbel, keyboardist Michael Bluestein, guitarist Bruce Watson and Chris Frazier on drums. Hansen loves his fans and it shows, with his start to finish interaction and finally ending with the “I wanna know what Love Is” with Kelly as the fans to share the love with all in the world, to bringing out a local high school winner to sing the encore with the band. Foreigner’s Mick Jones said in a statement: “We can’t wait to hit the road with our good friends Kansas and Europe. Juke Box Heroes tour will be epic for sure. Over 40 years later the band is still kicking ass and taking names. Below are some links and a link for the Detroit show.
