Stone Temple Pilots are coming to Detroit in February. The tour is in support of the bands album Perdida (Spanish for “Lost”). This will be something different from the band’s previous work. It is their first-ever acoustic album, and features instruments like flute, alto saxophone, guitarrón, and Marxophone. What also makes this tour special is the fact the band will be playing songs from their catalog that have never been played live in over 20 years.
Perdida is due out on February 7th and second album with frontman Jeff Gutt (Marine City, Michigan) and the bands eighth album to date. This tour, titled An Evening With Stone Temple Pilots, will make for a more intimate mood to match the songs. There will be an additional guitar player, some other string players and a keyboardist on board with the rockers.
The first single “Fare Thee Well” is out now. A link will be provided below for you, the album feature 10 tracks with the tour kicking off February 5 in Vancouver BC and ends February 29 in Atlantic City. Fans will be left in awe on this tour with Detroiter’s wanting every last bit of Gutt. I had the pleasure of covering STP this past summer the set was packed with high energy, along with some great stage presence , and some hometown love to the crowd from Gutt. Detroit and our neighbors from the north will no doubt sell this show out and quickly at that. Don’t wait and miss out at your chance to see this one of a kind night at the historic Fillmore.
